The Lo Stagnone lagoon enjoys about 300 windy days per year, with the peak season stretching from May to September/October, enhanced by thermal winds. While December to February sees fewer windy days, the conditions are stronger and the spot desolated. The prevailing wind directions are northwest (Mistral), northeast (Grecale), and southeast (Scirocco), typically ranging between 14-20 knots. During the summer months, the average air temperature is around 30°C, while the water temperature is a comfortable 23-25°C. On calm days, the wind can pick up around noon and strengthen as the day goes on.

Rules & Remarks
at the Lo Stagnone Lagoon
- Protection: A helmet and impact vest are mandatory for all kitesurfers.
- Safety rules: The first 100 meters are reserved for launching, landing, training without a board, and walking without a board. Beyond 100 meters, riders should body drag or quickly move out to 200 meters without performing tricks, where the free kite zone begins.
- Spot access: A daily fee of 10 € per day is required to access the spot through our Duotone Pro Center.
- Foiling: Though parts of the lagoon may seem suitable for foiling with a 45/50 cm mast, we recommend practicing kitefoiling and wing foiling at alternative locations such as San Teodoro, Marausa, Marsala, and Capo Feto, for optimal conditions.
- Be careful: The warm waters are favored by anemones, which can cause allergic skin reactions, especially on shaved legs. Those prone to reactions should wear leggings or long pants in the water.
