THE LO STAGNONE LAGOON

THE KITESURFING PARADISE OF SICILY

THE SPOT

GREAT LEARNING & FREESTYLE CONDITIONS

Lo Stagnone Lagoon, nestled between Trapani and Marsala and closed off by the island "Isola Grande," is a paradise for watersports enthusiasts. This unique spot in Sicily, Italy offers ultra-flat and shallow waters, making it an ideal destination for beginners to learn and freestylers to showcase their tricks. With the lagoon spanning approximately 7 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, and deepening only towards the south, it stands as one of Europe's largest shallow water lagoons.

Boasting over 300 days of wind per year and pleasant Mediterranean temperatures, Lo Stagnone is the perfect kitesurfing destination, especially from March until November. Our kite school provides direct access to the kite spot, allowing you to cruise around the vast lagoon and enjoy the beautiful nature of Sicily. Whether you're looking for a peaceful day of kiting or an adventurous kite excursion, we've got you covered.

Rules & Remarks

at the Lo Stagnone Lagoon

- Protection: A helmet and impact vest are mandatory for all kitesurfers.
- Safety rules: The first 100 meters are reserved for launching, landing, training without a board, and walking without a board. Beyond 100 meters, riders should body drag or
quickly move out to 200 meters without performing tricks, where the free kite zone begins.
- Spot access: A daily fee of 10 € per day is required to access the spot through our Duotone Pro Center.
- Foiling: Though parts of the lagoon may seem suitable for foiling with a 45/50 cm mast, we recommend practicing kitefoiling and wing foiling at alternative locations such
as San Teodoro, Marausa, Marsala, and Capo Feto, for optimal conditions.
- Be careful: The warm waters are favored by anemones, which can cause allergic skin reactions, especially on shaved legs. Those prone to reactions should wear leggings or
  long pants in the water.
